Having said that, its clearly the greatest psyche job in boxing history. In every possible way, Ray did a number on Marvin mentally, so badly that he quit, obviously. Between Marvin giving rounds away, refusing to box southpaw, Ray taking his BEST SHOTS (and dont get confused, Marvin never even wobbled Ray in this fight) and staring back at him, the pre fight talk about coming to fight a war and then using movement instead, the taunting, it was a complete mental whitewash. Marvin got played.

Ray wasnt pitty patting, he was hitting Marvin with huge flush shots the entire fight, Marvin just had one of the greatest chins in boxing history. HENCE WHY RAY STAYED AWAY FROM HIS POWER!! DUH!!! 3. Hearing the crowd turn on him in the 12th and chant Ray’s name must have absolutely killed Hagler, considering he was giving Ray zero respect.
