Having said that, its clearly the greatest psyche job in boxing history. In every possible way, Ray did a number on Marvin mentally, so badly that he quit, obviously. Between Marvin giving rounds away, refusing to box southpaw, Ray taking his BEST SHOTS (and dont get confused, Marvin never even wobbled Ray in this fight) and staring back at him, the pre fight talk about coming to fight a war and then using movement instead, the taunting, it was a complete mental whitewash. Marvin got played.

you dont even know the story behind Hagler’s retirement. youre fabricating to make RL’s win a convincing one with marvin portrayed as some psyched out loser. Marvin was ALREADY set to retire. RL had to convince Marvin not to retire & ignore his wife’s pleading to retire. thats the way it REALLY was becuz I followed the story as it happenedIf anything it was Ray who was psyched out from the start becuz he wouldnt accept the fite under ANY circumstances for years whenever it was brought up

You dont even know what happend leading up to that fite. what were you, 7 when it happened? so you followed how much of Hagler’s career before that..NOTHING?Stick to what you do best, changing diapers and your rag!Cunt!

Maybe so. But Leonard waited until Hagler got old before fighting him. Hagler was so slow…he couldn’t hit a sleeping elephant in this fight.

    1. Please dont act like movement hasnt been a part of boxing for 125 years. Watch some vintage early 60’s Ali tapes, they couldnt lay a glove on him. 2. Ray wasnt pitty patting, he was hitting Marvin with huge flush shots the entire fight, Marvin just had one of the greatest chins in boxing history. HENCE WHY RAY STAYED AWAY FROM HIS POWER!! DUH!!! 3. Hearing the crowd turn on him in the 12th and chant Ray’s name must have absolutely killed Hagler, considering he was giving Ray zero respect.

I’ve seen this fight about four times in the last few years, and every time I score it the same-115-113, for Sugar Ray Leonard
